Road Safety Minister Mike Penning has confirmed that it is the governments intention to introduce a requirement that learner drivers will have to undertake motorway driving before they present for the practical test. This would currently be illegal so would result in a change in law.
What will need to be made clear are issues such as:
How many hours
Supervised by who
Not everyone lives close to motorways
With these issues and more to finalise it would seem that the any changes may take a long time until they are introduced.
